Reviews about historical, literary, classic, and other fiction. Miscellaneous book things.
I have to admit that this book was slow to get into. Something about the way things were worded often seemed awkward, and even later on I had to reread a few sentences to understand them. The way the book progressed was not really what I expected, especially since the book started with focus on Felicia. I came to really dislike Hilditch and was disappointed in how the story panned out, with him keeping information from and lying to Felicia. I felt like the book was just full of things that teased the reader, and I didn't feel that the rest of the story really made up for it. I don't think I'll be pursuing other books by this author, as much as I liked the setting of this book.
