All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
It just felt like the author was trying way too hard and getting too caught up in detailing every little thing. It jumped back and forth between characters after only a few pages, and the characters felt unreal and implausible (two ever-so-conveniently precocious children?). Also, the references and quotations from famous works of literature felt like a hint that I'd be better reading those instead.
