Once We Had a Child by Hans Fallada

Once We Had a Child. Translated ... by Eric Sutton - Hans Fallada, trans. Eric Sutton

I have to admit defeat on this one.  It's quite different in style from his other novels, and, unfortunately, not anywhere near as good.  The book is divided into three large sections, but each of those sections just goes on and on, and it all seems rather aimless.  I lost interest in the characters and whatever semblance of a story it had, so I think I have to quit for now.
