Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay

Sarah's Key [Paperback] - Tatiana de Rosnay

I kept hearing about this book and the related movie, and it sounded like a really interesting story. Unfortunately, the book was a total waste of time. The writing was not good at all, and the switching back and forth in time didn't help. It only irritated me, because it felt like I was switching between an ok work of historical fiction and a totally shitty piece of chick lit. I didn't care anything about the present-day characters, and the glimpses into the past, which were more interesting, petered out and disappeared entirely later in the book. This could have been so much better! I ended up skimming the rest and just gave up in the end. Don't bother.
